Christian Iaione

Co-Founder

Christian Iaione is Professor of Public Law at Luiss Guido Carli where he teaches courses on law, policy and governance of innovation and climate change, as well as courses on climate -neutral and smart cities.

Christian Iaione is deputy director of the research center BILL – Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation Law Lab, coordinator of the Luiss School of Law’s innovation area, co-director of the graduate program in Strategic Management, Innovation and Sustainability and co-director of LabGov – LABoratory for the GOVernance of the Commons (a scientific partnership between Luiss University and Columbia University). He is affiliated fellow of the Urban Law Center at Fordham University and recurring visiting professor at Reichman University.

He served as Luiss principal investigator for several EU-funded R&I projects (i.e. Open Heritage, EUARENAS, ENGAGE.EU R&I and AWARE) and several national grants on the creation of energy communities and emerging technology hubs, Planetary Health-based urban regeneration processes. He has served as expert in several URBACT and UIA project and is a member of the Urban Partnership on Innovative and Responsible Procurement under the EU Urban Agenda. He coordinates the City Science Office of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia and represents it within the European Commission’s City Science Initiative. He has been Emile Noël research fellow at NYU Law School, Urban Citizen Fellow at the NIAS-KNAW and is currently research fellow at The New Institute in Hamburg.
